Long time no blog. Sorry life has been hectic recently. I recently sent this email to a couple of my best friends. It is more a rant than an email. Of course it is about boys. Sometimes it just feels good to get your thoughts out there.
and my hope in men has now gone ary. WTF ****. you talk to me for two hours. you make me pound fists with you (which is weird and awkward- I am not your homie). you then proceed to ask my friend how you should play this out. you request to be my friend on facebook. you send me a nice message. and now what.
FREAKING NOTHING.
what is the deal with men and their lack of follow through? and not only that but now you have me doubting myself. did he not like my fb profile? does he think i am a big loser? am i not pretty enough for you? WHAT IS THE FREAKING DEAL. dude i freaking cried about this yesterday. weak. i let satan and his lies get into my head which makes me mad but i am mad that i cried. is it too much to ask for one date? gosh i mean it doesnt sound like too much.
sincerely,
your puffy eyed loser friend with a bad case of PMS and rage against all men named ****.

It Has Been Awhile...
Long time no blog. I apologize for the radio silence... life gets busy sometimes-you know what I mean?
Maybe it is the fact that I feel as though I am in a funk. A fall funk. Fall is normally my favorite season of the year. From October 1st-December 31st, I am in love with it all. This year I am not getting the warm fuzzies. I have been in a rut, feeling that things haven’t been going my way and there is no way to change it around. Life is hard sometimes. As I was thinking this I was also reminded of all of the blessings in my life. I need to focus more on the blessings than what is missing. I am truly blessed beyond measure and need to always keep that in the forefront of my mind.
So here is to keeping a positive attitude and moving forward and enjoying the greatest time of the year.

PSL.
My beloved PSL is back at Starbucks. For those of you who don't know what that is- Pumpkin Spice Latte. Basically it is fall in a cup. A delicious cup. If you have not tried one of these, I suggest that you run as fast as you can to your local Starbucks to try it out.

Birchbox.
Don't you just love things that come in mini size?? I know that I do. I recently came across Birchbox. The basic premise of the site is you sign up and for $10 a month you get a package with lots of mini size samples of great products. It is great because you get to try out some great products to see if you like them before you commit to a full size. Plus the packaging makes it feel like you are getting a present every month. Who doesn't love presents?

Don't Settle.
In light of Steve Jobs stepping down from his position at Apple, I found part of his commencement address to the Stanford Class of 2005. Sidenote: I too graduated from college in 2005 and our commencement speaker was defintely not Steve Jobs. I also did not attend Stanford so...
"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle." - Steve Jobs
I have always been a big fan of not settling. Mostly this deep desire to not be ok with the mundane things in life but to strive for something better and to be the best person you possibly can be. A dear friend of mine, Becky Williams, also said the following to me:
"Don't Settle on the important things. Don't settle just to get married, don't settle on your goals and dreams and most importantly don't settle for a life you don't love. " - Becky Williams
Looks like Steve and Becky share some of the same mindset. I think this is something that everyone should strive for- to not settle. So here's to not settling.

Friendly Flower.
"Don't you think that daisies are the friendliest flowers?" -Kathleen Kelly from You've Got Mail.
First of all, I love the movie You've Got Mail. Why you might ask? It is the cutest story and it takes place in my favorite place in the whole world, New York City. This weekend I walked to the farmers market with the purpose of buying some flowers for the week. You know my stance on flowers-- I love them and think they add a little something special to wherever you put them. The selection this week was slim but they had daisies so I decided to buy a bunch. I am so glad that I did. They are definitely adding a little something special to my bedside table this week.

Flowers.
Is it just me or do flowers make everything better? I find myself browsing the selection pretty much every time that I go to the store. Here is this weeks selection... as you can see, I also love polka dots and Lauren Conrad.

My Dream Shoes.
I recently found what I consider to be my dream shoes. Here they are in all of their glory.
1. They are a blush pink. Who doesn't love a blush pink?
2. The bows. I LOVE anything with a bow. If it has a bow on it, I am 100% likely to buy it.
3. They are super comfortable.
I am already in the process of incorporating these into a million outfits.

Happy Monday.
For those who know me, you might be aware of how much I love K-Love. For those who do not know, K-Love is a Christian radio station. Everyday I receive their encouraging word of the day. Today's word was just too good to not share.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
--Hebrews 13:8, NLT
AMEN!

Coconut Dreams.
This weekend I made a Coconut Cream Pie from scratch. Well technically I bought the crust at the store and then baked it but I would say it is pretty homemade. The process was surprisingly simple. Easy to follow and done before you know it. Here is the recipe in case you are interested in trying it out.
Now that I am blogging, I need to remember to bring my camera to take photos. If you know me, I am not one for photographs but I guess that will be changing. Thanks to my Dad and his trusty cell phone for the photo below. Not the best but I am sure you get the idea. Happy Monday!

Happy Birthday to Me.
Yesterday was my 28th birthday. I find as you get older birthdays seem to be less exciting. Growing up and having a summer birthday was a bummer. Friends were out of town on vacation and it seemed as though no one could come to your party. Now birthdays usually fall on work days and you are lucky if you get the day off. How times change. I was lucky enough to have to take the day off.
I have decided to write about the happenings during the next 365 days. I declare it the year of F-U-N. I am going to make the best out of all situations that come my way. I can't wait to see what is in store.
